Peggy Belle Camp, 79, of Hubert, North Carolina, formerly of Kansas, Illinois passed away at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She was a homemaker.

She was born May 31, 1931 in Edgar County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Clarice Hanner. She married Victor M. Ward in 1949 in Paris, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1952. She later married L. Dale Camp on April 16, 1960 in Edgar County, Illinois and he survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Patrick (Tes) Camp of Fisher, Illinois, and Richard "Trick" Camp and David (Linda) Camp both of Swansboro, North Carolina; a daughter, Linda McKeller of Mattoon, Illinois; a brother, Roy (Anna) Walsh of Metcalf, Illinois; five grandchildren, Loretta Varela of Mattoon, Illinois, David Camp Jr. of Leesburg, Virginia, Charles McKeller of Mattoon, Illinois, Kayla Camp of Fisher, Illinois, and Rob Rardin of Metcalf, Illinois; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Camp, and a brother, Francis Hanner.

Mrs. Camp was a lifelong resident of Edgar County until moving to North Carolina following her husband's retirement from farming.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Services celebrating her life were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. The Reverend Bret Hammond officiated and burial followed in Green Moss Cemetery in Clark County, Illinois. Casket bearers were David Camp Jr., Mike Camp, Bruce Cottle, Charles McKeller, Rob Rardin, and Pedro Varela. Visitation was from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
