|
Louis L. "Slim" Cooper, 78, of Paris, Illinois passed away at 10:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at his residence. He retired in 1993 after twenty-nine years as a forklift operator at Midwest of Paris. He was born March 8, 1931 in Woodbury, Tennessee, the son of the late John D. and Myrtle (Phillips) Cooper. Survivors include two daughters, Rosalee Maxwell and Brenda J. McManus both of Paris, Illinois; two brothers, Albert Cooper of Marcella, Illinois and Jack Cooper of Paris, Illinois; a sister, Flora "Annie" Michner of Paris, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Russell VanNess of Champaign, Illinois, Ronald VanNess of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jesse McManus, Damian Maxwell, and Jack Maxwell all of Paris, Illinois, Hope Sanders of Salem, Illinois and Brice Cooper of Paris, Illinois; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Obie Cooper, and three brothers. |

Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. January 29, 2010 at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Cremation followed. Interment of ashes will be private in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date. |
