Mildred Juanita "Millie" Newlin, 84, of Paris, Illinois, formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia passed away at 4:03 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 at Paris Community Hospital. She was retired after many years as a custodian at West Virginia University.

She was born May 21, 1923 in Kingwood, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Clida (Sparks) Lee.

Suvivors include a son, William (Leona) Newlin of Paris, Illinois; a brother, Robert Lee of Shoals, Indiana; two sisters, Helen Harding of Washington, Indiana and Margaret Bell of Keyser, West Virginia; three grandchildren, William Newlin III and Randolph (Ellen) Newlin all of Paris, Illinois, and Jeremy (Lori) Newlin of Marshall, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren, Marissa Newlin, Amber Newlin, Teri Rae Tapscott, William Newlin IV, Savanna Newlin, Alyssa Newlin, Jeremy Newlin Jr., and Hunter Newlin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Raymond Lee, and an infant brother, Edward Lee.

Ms. Newlin enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and visiting with friends and neighbors.

Services celebrating her life were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Bro. Kurt Speece officiated and burial followed in Forsythe Cemetery. Casket bearers were Steve Barker, Steve Gallagher, Josh Shaffer, and John Waltz. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
