Paul Edward Ludington, Sr., 87, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Life’s Journey Senior Living in Paris. He was retired after twenty-five years as a pipefitter at Illinois Cereal Mills.

He was born July 26, 1931, in Paris, the son of the late Rector and Jessie (Henley) Ludington. He married Eunice Ayres on July 3, 1975, in Metropolis, Illinois, and she survives.

Other survivors include six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Kevin (Jenny) Ludington and family of Paris. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul E. Ludington, Jr.; a daughter, Nancy Castle; three brothers, Wayne, Woodrow, and Rector Ludington; three sisters, Helen Smith, Maxine Richey, and Thelma Fitzjarrald; and an infant grandson.

Mr. Ludington served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was a member of American Legion Post #211. He loved bluegrass music and was an accomplished guitarist.


Services celebrating his life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris, with Pastor Deborah McClarey officiating. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery, with military rites by American Legion Post #211 & V.F.W. Post #3601. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris.
